Apple unveils new iPad with HD Screen at Apple event march 2012

Apple gave the new iPad a bunch of new features. Apple has unveiled a new iPad with a high-definition screen. It has, as expected, a sharper screen, driven by a faster processing chip that acts as the “brains” of the device.

Apple chief executive Tim Cook said: “We think that iPad is the poster child of the post-PC world.” The new iPad will go on sale March 16 in Canada, France, Germany and the United States at the same price as the previous models, which start at $499 for the most basic iPad featuring wireless connectivity only. Schiller said: The new product also sports a substantially more powerful processor called the A5X chip — the X short for quad core graphics power built into the processor.

An iPad with 16 gigabytes of memory and with both Wi-Fi and 4G connectivity will cost $629 in the United States. iPad with 32GB Wi-Fi/4G model will cost $729 and a 64GB version with Wi-Fi and 4G will cost $829. The tablet also features a five-megapixel camera and high-definition video recording. The new iPad will look almost exactly like the earlier models. The new device supports the higher resolution 1080p specification and has a new user interface. The battery life of the new model remains the same. Apple says the battery capacity is 70 percent higher than for the old model. The new screen should be able to show all the detail in high-definition movies and also show deeper and more vibrant colors than previous models, Apple said. The new iPad will be 9.4 millimeters thick, or 0.37 inches.
