Verizon starts wireless broadband for homes. Verizon Wireless announced a version of its wireless broadband service that’s designed for use in rural and remote homes. Verizon Wireless is launching wireless broadband service that can’t get DSL or cable. The wireless broadband service, called HomeFusion which requires the installation of a cylindrical antenna, about the size of a 5-gallon bucket, on an outside wall. The hardware costs $200, but the work is free. HomeFusion starts at $60 per month for 10 gigabytes of data. The fixed-line phone company that owns most of Verizon Wireless, provides download speeds up to 7 megabits per second in most areas.

Dallas, Nashville, Tenn., and Birmingham, Ala., will be the first areas to get the service, later this month. Verizon will sell step-up plans with 20 gigabytes of data for $90 per month and 30 gigabytes for $120 per month.

Cellco Partnership, doing business as Verizon Wireless, is a mobile network operator in the United States. Verizon Wireless is one of two major U.S. carriers that use CDMA technology, the other being Sprint Nextel. Alltel also used CDMA before becoming part of Verizon Wireless. On February 21, 2012, T-Mobile filed a formal appeal with the FCC asking them to block the transfer of range purchased by Verizon Wireless at auction in 2006 from Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and Cox Communications.

Kanye West designs calfskin sandals with Giuseppe Zanotti in Paris Fashion Week

Kanye West, released the shoes he designed for Giuseppe Zanotti, during Paris Fashion Week. Rapper Kanye West created pair of calfskin sandals embroidered with pearls to accompany his Dw by Kanye collection at Paris Fashion Week in 2011. Fashion designer has placed his first pair of women’s shoes on sale in Paris, France – for almost $6,000.

His solely designed calf skin shoes adorned with pearls retail in Paris’s own ultra trendy and upscale store Colette. He had also just designed for Australian designer Dion Lee’s London Fashion Week show. Kanye West is due to return to the French catwalk to show off his latest designs for his 2012 collection as part of Paris Fashion Week. Singer Jordin Sparks has told on the desirable shoe is just too expensive to buy. Kanye’s heel is only available for purchase through the French retailer Colette. Kanye has previously created footwear designs with Louis Vuitton and Nike.

Kanye Omari West is an American rapper, singer, and record producer. As of 2012, West has won a total of eighteen Grammy Awards, making him one of the most awarded artists of all time. Kanye West was voted as the MTV Man of the Year by MTV in 2010.

Nourison partners with Barclay Butera on new rug collection

Nourison will partner with Californian lifestyle designer Barclay Butera to create a line of rugs next month. Nourison and Californian lifestyle designer Barclay Butera have signed a new brand licensing agreement. The new designs will debut at the Spring High Point Market in Nourison’s showroom in the IHFC’s Interhall. Alex Peykar, principal at Nourison said: “Barclay has a unique brand image, design style and loyal customer base that will help us reach a completely new market demographic.” Butera said: “This company is unparalleled in their product development capabilities, their marketing efforts, and their customer service. We look forward with tremendous anticipation to this launch and are thrilled to be able to offer this collection to the industry.”

Barclay and Nourison will co-host a debut event on Sunday April 22nd in the Nourison showroom to celebrate the launch and show off the new line. Barclay Butera has been redefining luxury throughout his entire career. 29th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show record number of exhibitors

Australian and Kiwi jewellers were in abundance at the Hong Kong Jewellery Show. Hong Kong International Jewellery Show closed this week. Show sees over 30,000 international visitors and events including mini parades, seminars and networking receptions and this year’s gala fashion parade.

HKTDC Jewellery Advisory Committee chairman Lawrence Ma said: “The total export value in 2011 increased, giving Hong Kong jewellery exports, including re-exports, a 35 per cent growth rate to US$6 billion. Exports to all major regions increased in value: US 29 per cent and EU 20per cent.”

The event features more than a dozen product zones. Show includes more than 6,500 buyers from 87 buying missions, representing companies from 75 countries and regions. They include: Brazil’s Amsterdam Sauer, Ann-Louise Jewellers from Canada, the Chinese mainland’s Gems and Jewelry Trade Association of China, Nouveaux Bijoutiers from France, Russia’s Jewelux, South Africa’s Truworths, Grand Stores from the United Arab Emirates and Ben Bridge Jeweler from the United States.

The fair is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and co-organised by the Hong Kong Jewellers’ & Goldsmiths’ Association, the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, the Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association and the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China.

Victoria Beckham has a new must-have design the Harper. Victoria Beckham revealed the Harper handbags named after her adorable daughter. Victoria Beckham showcased her new autumn/winter collection at the New York Fashion week and revealed that she had named a bag after her seven month old daughter, her youngest child, reported Femalefirst. She debuted her AW12 range to the fashion world in New York at the weekend. The bag is simple in design, made in suede with two front pockets, a front flap and a large handle.

Victoria Caroline Beckham is an English singer-songwriter, dancer, model, actress, fashion designer and businesswoman. DreamWorks Animation announces plans for new studio in China

Dreamworks Animation SKG Inc plans to build a production studio in Shanghai. DreamWorks Animation announced Friday a $330 million Chinese joint venture. DreamWorks Animation will team its California-based studio with three Chinese companies to operate a studio in Shanghai. The Chinese firms are China Media Capital (CMC), with plans to include Shanghai Media Group (SMG) and Shanghai Alliance Investment (SAIL). The deal was announced while Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping was visiting Los Angeles and wrapping up a U.S. visit.

“We are incredibly proud to establish Oriental DreamWorks alongside CMC, SMG and SAIL in this groundbreaking and historic alliance to create the leading Chinese-branded family entertainment company,” said DreamWorks Animation’s CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg. The new studio will be called Oriental Dreamworks and will launch business operations in Shanghai later this year. The Chinese companies will hold about 55 percent of the new studio, and Dreamworks Animation will own about 45 percent. The US company said DreamWorks Animation has enjoyed box office success in China led by its blockbuster “Kung Fu Panda” franchise. The company has made a total of 23 animated feature films, including the “Shrek” and “Madagascar” franchises, as well as “Kung Fu Panda” and “How to Train Your Dragon.”

Bridal design house Alfred Angelo has released its exclusive Twilight-sanctioned wedding dress for the seemingly reasonable price of $799.

Bella (Kristen Stewart) wears a long hourglass satin gown featuring long sleeves, a cut-out lace embellished back and old-fashioned buttons. The gown as it appeared in the film was designed by Carolina Herrera. Stephenie Meyer and Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon selected the final design out of ten sketches that Carolina submitted.

Carolina Herrera is a Venezuelan and naturalized American fashion designer and entrepreneur who founded her eponymous company in 1980. She has been named the designer of fictional character Bella Swan’s wedding dress for teen movie The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 1.

The news was released after independent film studio Summit Entertainment, the creators of The Twilight Saga, based on American author Stephenie Meyer’s books, tweeted ‘On November 18, see Bella’s Carolina Herrera-designed wedding dress in #BreakingDawnPart1!’ Herrera received the distinguished “Mercedes-Benz Presents” title for the season spring/summer 2011 collection.
