Diesel Style Team to start Ducati Monster clothing line

The Diesel Style Team, under the watchful eyes of Diesel founder Mr. Renzo Rosso, is working closely with the Ducati’s Design Centre, have launched a new “urban military chic” version to the iconic Ducati Monster 1100 EVO and new apparel collection based on Ducati Monster 1100 EVO.

The latest modified model is an ‘urban military chic’ version of Ducati’s iconic naked motorcycle and will be revealed alongside the new collection at the Diesel stores of New York-Soho (15 March), Rome (22 March), and Tokyo-Shibuya (29 March).

“When we had the opportunity to work with Ducati, with last year’s MotoGP sponsorship, we discovered a whole world of shared values and common roots. That brought us the desire to create something new together, and we made it in the only way we know: taking the great know-how of both companies and mixing it with passion and creativity. The results are unique products, characterized by a great mix of design and technology,” said Stefano Rosso.

The collection is devoted to addicts of life in the fast lane and devoted enthusiasts of these two great Italian brands. Colours for the collection are black, grey, white with pop up red motivated by logos from both brands and the range of fabrics goes from treated nylon and cotton to denim and overdyed jersey mix with leather and metal applications.

Nigeria Fashion Week showcases African designers

Nigeria’s largest city has host to a Fashion Week event in an effort to draw new attention to African designers. African fashion designers are using together their tradition and international trends to gain attention on the world stage. The 77 designers offered a range of outfits combination of traditional fabrics with international aesthetics. Victoria Island in Nigeria’s economic capital Lagos was home to one of Africa’s biggest fashion shows.

Nigerian designer Toju Foyeh said: “My designs are basically for young and middle-aged people, although I target the youth more as they are most likely to have a drive to look good.” New York-based designer Loza Maleombho debuted a collection that draws from the traveling Tuareg people of the Sahara Desert and Afghan traditional wear. ARISE Magazine Fashion Week in Lagos, now in its second year, highlighted the work of typically African or Africa-influenced designers. Seventy-seven rising African or African-based designers were whittled down to five winners to show at next year’s New York fashion week, the glamour queen of all fashion weeks. The first two days were cancelled as electricity problems remained uncontrolled in a city where most depend on generators for power.

Swiss firm Hublot reveals most expensive watch in the world

Hublot unveiled on Wednesday the world’s most expensive watch with a price tag of $5 million. Hublot watch with more than 1,200 diamonds, including six stones of more than 3 carats each. The company is owned by French luxury giant LVMH. Mr Jean-Claude Biver, president of the Swiss Watch Industry said it would be hard to make a more expensive watch ‘because the surface of the watch is limited.

According to the AFP news agency the watch was created by Swiss firm Hublot and took 17 people 14 months to make. Biver at the world’s biggest watch show in Basel said 17 people take 14 months to set the more than 140 carats of diamonds on the watch’s white gold bracelet. Biver president of the Swiss Watch Industry, told “We profit off the general growth of the economy in the region.”

Hublot is a Swiss enterprise creating luxury watches and founded in 1980 by Carlo Crocco. The company currently operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of France’s LVMH. Hublot and Ferrari announced during the 2011 Ferrari World Finals at Mugello a long-term strategic partnership which will officially start on 1 January 2012, making Hublot Ferrari’s “Official Watch” and “Official Timekeeper.”

French Jewelry Designer Suzanne Belperron collection at Geneva auction

The private collection of French jeweller Suzanne Belperron will be auctioned in Geneva on May 14, Sotheby’s announced Monday. Suzanne Belperron, born in the Jura region of France is now celebrated as one of the rare feminine forces of 20th Century jewellery design. She try outs with textures old and new, reviving tastes for natural pearls, and championing the use of grey gold and palladium, has given her jewellery a eternal elegance that seems as fresh and exciting today as it was at the time.

The collection, with an estimated value of over one million dollars, consists in affluence combined by Belperron, and others by Cartier and Faberge. Her jewelry embodies a sensual elegance as well as an intellectual charm that appealed to a stylish clientele from socialites to stage and screen stars. Suzanne never sold from a shop but received consumers at her home in Paris, among them the Duke and Dutchess of Windsor, the actor Gary Cooper, and the artist Jean Cocteau.

Suzanne born in Eastern France in 1900, she studied drawing and jewelry at the École des Beaux-Arts in Besançon, beginning her career in 1921 as a draftswoman at the celebrated maison Boivin in Paris. she left behind the rigid lines of Art Deco to carve stones into organic shapes, invoking the delicacy of wings, petals, and fruit, and adorned them with gemstones.

Kanye West designs calfskin sandals with Giuseppe Zanotti in Paris Fashion Week

Kanye West, released the shoes he designed for Giuseppe Zanotti, during Paris Fashion Week. Rapper Kanye West created pair of calfskin sandals embroidered with pearls to accompany his Dw by Kanye collection at Paris Fashion Week in 2011. Fashion designer has placed his first pair of women’s shoes on sale in Paris, France – for almost $6,000.

His solely designed calf skin shoes adorned with pearls retail in Paris’s own ultra trendy and upscale store Colette. He had also just designed for Australian designer Dion Lee’s London Fashion Week show. Kanye West is due to return to the French catwalk to show off his latest designs for his 2012 collection as part of Paris Fashion Week. Singer Jordin Sparks has told on the desirable shoe is just too expensive to buy. Kanye’s heel is only available for purchase through the French retailer Colette. Kanye has previously created footwear designs with Louis Vuitton and Nike.

Kanye Omari West is an American rapper, singer, and record producer. As of 2012, West has won a total of eighteen Grammy Awards, making him one of the most awarded artists of all time. Kanye West was voted as the MTV Man of the Year by MTV in 2010.

29th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show record number of exhibitors

Australian and Kiwi jewellers were in abundance at the Hong Kong Jewellery Show. Hong Kong International Jewellery Show closed this week. Show sees over 30,000 international visitors and events including mini parades, seminars and networking receptions and this year’s gala fashion parade.

HKTDC Jewellery Advisory Committee chairman Lawrence Ma said: “The total export value in 2011 increased, giving Hong Kong jewellery exports, including re-exports, a 35 per cent growth rate to US$6 billion. Exports to all major regions increased in value: US 29 per cent and EU 20per cent.”

The event features more than a dozen product zones. Show includes more than 6,500 buyers from 87 buying missions, representing companies from 75 countries and regions. They include: Brazil’s Amsterdam Sauer, Ann-Louise Jewellers from Canada, the Chinese mainland’s Gems and Jewelry Trade Association of China, Nouveaux Bijoutiers from France, Russia’s Jewelux, South Africa’s Truworths, Grand Stores from the United Arab Emirates and Ben Bridge Jeweler from the United States.

The fair is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and co-organised by the Hong Kong Jewellers’ & Goldsmiths’ Association, the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, the Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association and the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China.

Victoria Beckham has a new must-have design the Harper. Victoria Beckham revealed the Harper handbags named after her adorable daughter. Victoria Beckham showcased her new autumn/winter collection at the New York Fashion week and revealed that she had named a bag after her seven month old daughter, her youngest child, reported Femalefirst. She debuted her AW12 range to the fashion world in New York at the weekend. The bag is simple in design, made in suede with two front pockets, a front flap and a large handle.

Victoria Caroline Beckham is an English singer-songwriter, dancer, model, actress, fashion designer and businesswoman. Beckham rose to fame with the all-female pop group Spice Girls and was dubbed Posh Spice by the July 1996 issue of the British pop music magazine Top of the Pops. She is married to David Beckham and they have four children, Brooklyn Joseph, Romeo James, Cruz David, and Harper Seven. Beckham is also well known for her love of designer high heeled shoes. Beckham was awarded the “Designer of the Year” gong at the annual British Fashion Awards.

Bella Swan’s stunning Twilight wedding dress for sale

Bella Swan’s wedding dress is now available. Bella (Kristen Stewart) is seen in the stunning custom fit gown which is made out of crepe satin and French Chantilly lace. The dress is available in sizes 0 to 30W, and is on sale for $799 under Alfred Angelo‘s brand. Bridal design house Alfred Angelo has released its exclusive Twilight-sanctioned wedding dress for the seemingly reasonable price of $799.

Bella (Kristen Stewart) wears a long hourglass satin gown featuring long sleeves, a cut-out lace embellished back and old-fashioned buttons. The gown as it appeared in the film was designed by Carolina Herrera. Stephenie Meyer and Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon selected the final design out of ten sketches that Carolina submitted.

Carolina Herrera is a Venezuelan and naturalized American fashion designer and entrepreneur who founded her eponymous company in 1980. She has been named the designer of fictional character Bella Swan’s wedding dress for teen movie The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 1.

The news was released after independent film studio Summit Entertainment, the creators of The Twilight Saga, based on American author Stephenie Meyer’s books, tweeted ‘On November 18, see Bella’s Carolina Herrera-designed wedding dress in #BreakingDawnPart1!’ Herrera received the distinguished “Mercedes-Benz Presents” title for the season spring/summer 2011 collection.

Elle Style Awards 2012 Fashion and Glamour

The Elle Style Awards is scheduled the day after the BAFTA. Amongst the high-profile guests included Gillian Anderson, Christina Hendricks, and Eddie Redmayne on red carpet for the Elle Style Awards. The emphasize dresses of the evening included a dress worn by British model Poppy Develigne by Mary Katrantzou for Topshop and Bond girl Harris’ Viktor & Rolf dress with oversized stitching.

Sarah Burton was hailed International Designer of the Year at the 15th Elle Style Awards. Fashion winners included Brazil’s Isabeli Fontana. Model of the moment Poppy Delevigne awarded Acne with the Contemporary Brand of the Year prize.

Alexa Chung hosted the annual UK edition of the international fashion publication’s awards. Nicholas Kirkwood was hailed Accessory Designer of the Year and Jonathan Saunders was cited British Designer of the Year.
